French Open: Novak Djokovic prevails over Rafael Nadal in epic semi-final clash, sets up final with Tsitsipas
Xtra Time Web Desk: World No 1 Novak Djokovic prevailed over Rafael Nadal 3-6 6-3 7-6 (7-4) 6-2 to set up title clash with Stefanos Tsitsipas at the French Open. The epic semi final clash lasted for 4 hours 11 minutes as the Serb inflicted just the third defeat for Nadal at the Roland Garros.
It was a terrific atmosphere at the Philippe Chartrier Court as both Djokovic and Nadal played some brilliant tennis that kept the 5000 odd fans on the edge of their seat. It was the second victory for Djokovic over Nadal at the French Open. The last time the big hitting Serb got the better of the 13 time champion was in the quarter finals of 2015.
Nadal had won all 13 of his previous semi-finals against Djokovic
In the final on Sunday, Djokovic will take on Stefanos Tsitsipas - winner of a five-set contest with Alexander Zverev earlier on Friday.
