I had so much to tennis. I wanted since childhood to become a professional. I made more than I could imagine,"  said the Serbian on her Facebook account. She added: "Professional sport demands a lot of sacrifice, and you always have to be at the top, it's time for me to move on, and the next step is to become an ambassador for my sport. Do not be sad, but wish me the best. It was during the 2005 season that Anna Ivanovic made her debut in the top 20 and played a full season on the WTA circuit with a better performance, a quarter-final lost to Nadia Petrova in Roland Garros. Because after this first season, the companion of Bastian Schweinsteiger begins its ascent to the tops of the female tennis. The Serbian knows its hours of glory in the seasons 2007-2008 by accessing the final of Roland Garros first in 2007 and that of the Australian Open in 2008. And then, winning the international one year France Later and bidding for only 20 years the throne of world number one. With this first Grand Slam victory, the Serb must chain, but the opposite happens. Between injuries and counter performances, Ana Ivanovic gradually goes down in the world hierarchy of women's tennis. It follows a few difficult years, with occasional performances of first choice, like this quarter-final at the US Open in 2012 and its return in the top 15 the same year. She also has to wait until 2014 to see her return to the top 10 players of the circuit and 2015 to see her play a new semi-final of a major in Roland Garros. And then again it's decline. Ana Ivanovic is married in 2016 with the German footballer Bastian Schweinsteiger. Today she ranks 63rd in the WTA standings.
