Kolkata: Mohun Bagan’s star striker Jeje Lalpekhlua arrived in the city today evening. Jeje, who was adjudged the Best Indian footballer by the All India Football Federation will join the practice tomorrow at the club ground. The diminutive striker arrived from his hometown Mozoram in an Air India flight.

He looked quite excited with the fact that he will be joining his old teammates at the Mariners. On being asked what his target will be this season for Mohun Bagan, a confident Jeje said, “My target will be to win back the I League again for Mohun Bagan.”

Jeje has been in tremendous form this season. The 25-year-old footballer from Mizoram Jeje has made rapid strides in Indian football since making his international debut in 2012.

The Mariners have the best strike force in the country at the moment. With Jeje, Balwant and Duffy the Federation Cup champions will look forward to the trio to win matches for them in the forthcoming I League.

On being asked whether he will get enough time to adjust to the combinations, Jeje commented, “I am absolutely fit to play from the first match. It is up to the coach to decide whether he will keep me in the playing eleven or not.”

Mohun Bagan ended up as the runners last season in I League. The Mariners came a close second in the league. Jeje, who was part of the Bagan squad for the last couple of seasons will look to end up winning the title this season.

According to Jeje, “I would like to start from where I left season. I would like to give my best for the club.”

On the other hand Mohun Bagan has announced the signing of Brazilian defender Eduardo Soares Ferreira for I-League 2016-17 . He started his youth career at Fluminese an elite Brazilian club playing in the  Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, his professional career started in the year 2005-2006 at Primavera which participates in the  Campeonato Paulista Série B2. Since then the player never looked back as he excelled to high ranks and played for numerous clubs across different.

Before joining FC Pune City in this year edition of ISL 3 he was plying his trade at Esteghlal Khuzestan F.C. which participates in the Iranian Gulf Pro-League. The player performed well and received appreciation for his clinical defending for FC Pune City this year.

Eduardo Quoted: “I am excited to join Mohun Bagan one of oldest Football in Asia, it will be a good experience for me to play as the club has successfully won the I-League and Federation Cup in last couple of season. I look forward to contribute and win a major title with the Club”.

Eduardo will be arriving tomorrow early morning.
