Kolkata: On the day Mohun Bagan officials had forgiven Dipen Karmakar, East Bengal secretary Kalyan Majumdar avoids to call him an East Bengal fan and rather labelled him as a Mohun Bagan fan.

Today, Dipen visited the Mohun Bagan ground with his mother and he met with the top officials of Bagan, finance secretary Debashis Dutta and assistant secretary Srinjoy Bose. His mother Runu Karmakar and Dipen himself begged pardon for what has happened and will not repeat it any further.

Debashis Dutta said, “We withdraw the case on Dipen but this has been done after remembering his mother’s face. People may think that this a drama but our withdrawal is looking at his mother’s face.”

Bagan assistant secretary, Srinjoy Bose said, “Winning or losing is not the matter of issue here. We have taken this step to aware all the East Bengal and Mohun Bagan fans so that they do not indulge any such posts on social networking sites.”

“But still I can show with proof some supporters are still posting some harsh comments supporting Dipen. I would only say one thing those who are abusing my mother or Debashis Dutta’s mother, do they really love their own mother”, he added.

Bagan football secretary, Satyajit Chatterjee said, “The strangest part Dipen is just 24 now and when that incident happened on 16 August, 1980 he did not even took birth. Just getting provoked by some people, he has done it which is shocking.”

Dipen’s mother, Runu Karmakar said, “I know my son has done a big mistake but looking at my family condition I would urge the officials to for give him.”

Dipen Karmakar on Kalyan Majumdar comments replied saying, “I am a diehard East Bengal fan. From my childhood, I have supported East Bengal and will keep doing so. If you ask me whether I will be present at East Bengal matches, I will say whatever I have done its from emotion.”

Earlier, Dipen Karmakar, 24, was arrested following the complaint lodged by Mohun Bagan officials four days ahead of the derby. Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Vishal Garg said that the cyber crime cell of Kolkata police arrested him on Saturday from his residence at Naihati.

The die-hard East Bengal supporter tried to spread severe provocation through his Facebook post. Mohun Bagan officials lodged an FIR following that post with the cyber crime department of Kolkata police. He wrote indecent words for the Mohun Bagan officials, which cannot be written. He also  threatened to bring back the memory of 16th August of 1980.

Following that complaint, yesterday night the cyber crime branch of Kolkata police arrested him from his Bijaynagar residence and was released on bail too soon.

A question automatically arises, these East Bengal-Mohun Bagan supporters claimed their respective clubs as their temples and mother, but with this incident it is still in doubt how much love and respect do these supporters have for their clubs and their own mothers too.
