Internet Desk: Shillong Lajong FC defeated Oil India by 3-1 today in the semfinal match of the Meghalaya Invitation Football Tournament at the SSA ground Polo.

In today’s semifinal clash Oil India took an early lead in the 7th minute of the game and it was also the only goal scored in the first half of the match.
Shillong Lajong displayed a much stronger and more entertaining second half and closed the game with three goals in total against Oil India.
Nim Dorjee Tamang cancelled out Oil India’s goal after he tapped in a Redeem Tlang pass in the 50th minute and leveled the score line at 1-1. They kept on moving forward and started to add immense pressure on the Oil players. They broke the Oil defence again after combining exceptionally well up front with Hardycliff Nongbri netting in the 84th minute.
Two minutes later, Bipin Singh made a terrific run and beats Nihal Das, the Oil India custodian, and then blasted the ball from outside the box to make it 3-1 in the 86th minute of the game.
Lajong won today’s match with three goals to one and remain undefeated in the tournament. They have successfully advanced to the finals and will face off GTC Shillong on 26th November.
