Internet Desk: Sony Norde’s first preference is to play for Mohun Bagan, says his agent Beto. The former Mohun Bagan footballer is also the Director of Get Pro Sports Management, the company which manages Norde in India. The Brazilian footballer met Mohun Bagan assistant secretary Srinjoy Bose in Mumbai on Tuesday, adding speculation to the Haitian footballer’s chances of playing for the Mariners again this season in I League.

Both Srinjoy and Beto had a long detailed discussion about the payment issue for Norde. The Mumbai City FC footballer has demanded a hike in his salary what he received last season.

“We did discuss about Norde and other footballers who will be seen in action for Mohun Bagan this season. We would very much prefer Norde to play for Mohun Bagan. But there are certain issues that we cannot disclose at the moment. Once it is sorted out you all will come to know,” said Beto to xtratime.in

On being asked whether Norde had offers from other clubs as well or not, Beto said, “He did have offers from other clubs. But he personally wants to play for Mohun Bagan as he knows the players, coach and atmosphere. We are hoping the issues are sorted out no sooner than later.”

The main reason for Norde’s delay in signing the contract is getting an assurance from Mohun Bagan about how his payment will be made. Mohun Bagan assistant secretary is the man looking at Norde issue.

According to Srinjoy, “We have other players as well managed by Beto’s company. Players like Pranay Halder, Bikramjit Singh and Brandon Fernandes are all managed by Get Pro. I just do not want media to speculate. We will make a formal announcement when the deal is closed.”

Norde and Mumbai City FC footballers arrived in Kolkata tonight to take part in the semi final of Indian Super League (ISL) against Atletico de Kolkata.
