Internet Desk: The BCCI has lifted their ban from the two-time IPL Champions Chennai Super Kings couple of days back and they are all set to make a return in IPL season 11. Former CSK skipper MS Dhoni posted a picture on his instagram account to welcome the team where he wore a yellow jersey with the number ’7’and a word “Thala” was printed on the backside of his jersey. Another former CSK player and star Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin gave a statement too after CSK’s comeback which has sparked controversy on social media.

When India’s premier off-spinner was asked by a newspaper to comment on Chennai’s return to IPL fold, he said, “I think the two-year hiatus for CSK probably increases its value much like what it did for Manchester United when the air crash happened (in 1958, when 23 people, including eight of Manchester United’s players died).”

The Manchester United fans and other sports lovers didn’t take his comment lightly.

Ashwin was on the back foot after an insensitive analogy. He Tweeted his explanation.

The star Indian off-spinner is currently with the Indian team in Sri Lanka to play three Tests, 5 ODIs and a single T-20 which will start from July 26.

CSK and Rajasthan Royals were banned for two years in the year 2015 when they were found guilty in 2013 regarding betting and spot-fixing.

“Super Morning, Lions! The wait is finally over. Time to rise and shine! #CSKReturns #whistlepodu,” the franchise had said on its return.
