Internet Desk: Mahendra Singh Dhoni is considered to be first person in Indian cricket who opposed the Decision Review System (DRS) along with the legend Sachin Tendulkar when the parent body of world cricket, ICC recommended all the cricketing boards to use the system for the betterment of cricket couple of years back. But the time has changed a lot after that. Nowadays the former India skipper is showing the world that not only he is in favour of DRS but also he has become the master to implement it.

Last night Sri Lankan opener Niroshan Dickwella nicked a delivery of debutante Shardul Thakur in the third over of the second innings, but as it was going through the leg side, the standing umpire signaled it as a wide, despite of a loud appeal from Dhoni and Thakur.

Though, Dhoni was confident that Dickwella had nicked the ball and talked to skipper Kohli immediately about the incident. After that Kohli asked for a DRS and the review showed that it was a slightest of nicks and the umpire had to change his decision in favour of the Men in Blue.

It was Shardul Thakur’s maiden international wicket and he would remember this incident for a long period of time.

The second incident happened during the 8th over of the game when Dilshan Munaweera tried to flick a delivery of India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah. He nicked the ball and in the process Dhoni grabbed the ball again from behind the stumps. Umpire Paul Reiffel signaled it a wide as he thought that the ball hadn’t touched anything, but Dhoni opposed the decision by saying that he heard a sound again. Kohli didn’t hesitate a bit and asked for a DRS and it showed that the veteran wicket-keeper was right again. By doing this Dhoni showed the world that he is still the best man behind the wicket for the Men in Blue and skipper Virat Kohli always gets the right suggestions from his former captain.
