Debasis Sen, Dubai: A day after the thrilling encounter against Afghanistan in the Super Four of the Asia Cup former India skipper MS Dhoni met with his two super fans at the team hotel. They are none other than India’s Sudhir Gautam & Pakistan’s Bashir Chacha. Dhoni met them at the lobby and shared a few lighter moments with the two by clicking selfies. This is the proof that there might be a line of control between the two nations but humanity has no boundaries. While the two supporters shared frame with the former India skipper one can surely tell that Dhoni becomes the ‘bridge’ between India and Pakistan in Dubai.
Bashir & Sudhir both looked immensely pleased after meeting the former Indian captain. It was a longtime dream for Bashir Chacha to meet Dhoni and finally his dream came true today. “There are so many people here in Dubai who demand 50 to 200 dollers to arrange a face to face interaction with players like Dhoni, Rohit Sharma. I came here in the morning for last 11 days to have a word with Dhoni and stayed here till the evening and finally today Dhoni not only met with me but also clicked selfies as well. It was totally ‘paisa wasool’ for me.
On the other hand Sudhir looked really humble as Dhoni himself took a selfie with him.” He is a great cricketer and I respect him a lot. Whenever I met him during the tours I went to him for a selfie but today Dhoni bhai asked me for a photo and it was an honour to share the frame with him,” said Sudhir.
Both Sudhir & Bashir continuously saying that it was a golden moment for them and they want to salute Dhoni from heart. Earlier www.xtratime.in broke the news that Pakistani fan Bashir Chacha called up Sudhir to enquire about his plans to travel to Dubai for the Asia Cup. After coming to know that Sudhir’s plans to travel was in jeopardy due to financial problems, he did not waste a single moment to extend all his help and support of realizing Sudhir’s dream. Now here in Dubai Chacha is taking care of all his expenses. And today after meeting with Dhoni the two friends again was seen singing the famous bollywood hindi song from the movie ‘Sholey’ Yeh dosti hum nahi torenge, torenge dum magar tera sath na chorenge.
Last night Mahendra Singh Dhoni became the first Indian cricketer to lead the side in 200 ODIs when he again captained the side against Afghanistan in a Super Four game of the Asia Cup in the absence of Rohit Sharma as he was rested by the team management ahead of the big final. Though the match ended in a thrilling tie but Dhoni fans again saw a glimpse of ‘Captain Cool’. The Indian team had a rest day today as the players went for gym and pool session. Indian cricket team’s captain for this tournament spent quality time with the fans at the coffee shop of the team hotel, on the other hand another Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan spent quality time with his wife. Players like Bhuvneshwar Kumar andd Jasprit Bumrah went to an Indian restaurant for lunch. The will train at the ICC academy on Thursday ahead of the grand final where they will face either arch-rivals Pakistan or Bangladesh.
