Xtra Time Web Desk: A thumping strike from Casemiro in the 83rd minute gave Brazil 1-0 win against Switzerland in FIFA World Cup 2022 Group G fixture at Stadium 974 on Monday. The win sees the Selecao reach the round of 16 with a match remaining in group stage.

The match did not reach great heights.  Brazil definitely missed Neymar Jr as they struggled  to find a way through a typically disciplined Switzerland defence. The score at half-time remained 0-0.

Vinicius Jr. almost gave Brazil the lead in the 65th minute but VAR intervened and saw his goal disallowed because of an offside call in the build-up. Switzerland didn't create many big chances and were made to pay by Brazil in the end.

Brazil finally broke the deadlock in the 83rd minute as Casemiro’s shot found the top corner of the net. Vinicius tries to play a one-two with Bruno. However, the ball falls kindly for Casemiro who hits it first time to give Brazil the lead
