Kolkata: Brazil hailed the amazing support at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata en route to their fascinating comeback against the mighty Germans to seal their berth in the Semi Final, where they will face England at Guwahati in their chase to win their 4th FIFA U17 World Cup title.

In the press conference, Brazil U17 Head Coach Carlos Amadeu said, “First of all congratulations to all of you for organising this tournament brilliantly. It is a good facility in the stadium. It was special to play in front of such support. Also, the way the fans were supporting, they were so polite. We are happy to perform well in front of such a crowd.”

The Brazil Coach lauded the tactics of the Germans in the first half and said, “The German coach had a very good strategy. He blocked our midfielders and he neutralised our system. This caused us some problems. Our left-back (Luan Candido) was vulnerable. In the second half, we subbed him off. Our midfielders went to the wings and fullbacks went in a more central role.”

Amadeu knows that it is a specialwin as he said, “Today we got a difficult win. Today is the day to enjoy, to celebrate. Tomorrow we’ll think about England.”

On the flip side, the German Coach Christian Wueck blamed the referee for the defeat. He stated, “Everyone saw what happened on the pitch. The referee killed the game. I wouldn’t have mind with the defeat if the referee had officiated a ‘fair’ game but he didn’t. This is not acceptable at this level.” He also blamed the Brazilian players for their misconduct.

In reply, Brazil U17 Head Coach Amadeu said, “I think that specialised people evaluate the referees. My job is to guide my players to perform on field. This Brazil team won the fair play award at the U15 and U17 South American Championships.”
