The Mexico team management conducted a pre-conditioning camp in Spain before coming to India. Mexico will face Iraq in their first match of the campaign against Asian champion Iraq in four days time. They are the side to arrive at the venue from Group F. Mexico has been regarded as one of the most consistant teams of the U17 World Cup. They won the FIFA U17 World Cup for the first time in Peru back in 2005 and achived the same feat on their home soil seven years later. They were the second best team of the tournament in 2013 where they lost to Nigeria by 0-3. The same team again eliminated them in the semi-finals in Chile back in 2015. With no Nigeria this time, the seven-time CONCACAF champions will be one of the favourites as it remains to be seen how the Arteaga's boys cope with the unfamiliar Indian conditions.
