Kolkata: Three times’ champions Brazil marks a scintillating come back to beat Germany by 2-1 in the quarterfinal in front of a record 66,633 crowd at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata.

Germany’s top scorer Jann-Fiete Arp scored from the spot in the 21st minute to have his fifth goal in the competition. The solid German defence hardly allowed the Brazilians tp make a come back since then in the first half.

But it was some moments of the famous Brazilian magic in the second half dumbfounded the mighty Germans as both Weverson and Paulinho scored from two back to back thunder-strikes to make it 2-1 in their favour.

Brazil are yet to be defeated so far in the tournament and becomes the fourth team in the competition to qualify for the semi finals. They will play against England in the Semi Final at Guwahati.
