Internet Desk: Emergent Executive Committee of Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) has announced that the Annual General Meeting of the VFI will be held on 15th April at Hotel Inderlok at Dehradun. The decision was made in the Emergent Executive Committee meeting that was held in Nagpur on 3rd March’2016.

VFI President also announced that all roadblocks created by the rival faction headed by Secretary Mr Ramavtar Jakhar has been cleared by Hon’ble Patiala House Court and Chennai High Court judgments dated 2nd March’ 2016. Hon’ble Patiala House court has ordered the Emergent Executive Committee on 3rd March’2016, to be presided over by The President is official while Chennai High Court has refused to give stay on the meeting to be held at Nagpur as pleaded by Secretary in Chennai High court on the 26th February 2016.

Commenting on these developments Chaudhary Avadhesh Kumar said, “It’s hard to believe that people have overlooked court orders and called a meeting in Chennai, when we were authorized to hold a meeting under my chairmanship at Nagpur, by Patiala House Court.”

The newly-elected Interim Secretary of VFI Mr. K Nandkumar said, “the claim by Ramavtar-led faction that there were 22 state unit affiliates present for the illegal meeting is untrue. The Emergent Executive Committee meeting in Nagpur saw 14 state units turning up and 4 to 5 units decided to skip both the meetings. So in no circumstances the Chennai meeting had more than handful members available. I would like to add that most of these members are already suspended for three years.”

The Interim Treasurer of VFI Mr. Parandeep Singh Gill said, “Ramavtar would be sent a legal notice for explanation on the illegal withdrawal of Rs. 60 Lakhs from the VFI accounts. We will also be taking strong action against the erstwhile CEO and treasurer for breaching the VFI constitution and bringing disrepute to the federation.”

The suspended units will be replaced by the new state office bearers and this decision will be taken at the AGM. Also, the president has declared that 11th March’2016 meeting called by Ramavtar in Chennai as illegal, since neither the President nor the 1/3rd members of the VFI units have requested to call for it.

Mr. Kumar added, “We are moving swiftly on the decisions taken by the Emergent Executive Committee meeting at Nagpur and you will soon see that the mess is cleaned-up from the VFI system. I have full support of the legislation, sporting bodies and international bodies to carry out this cleansing work.”

The federation office, bank account and the signatories will also be changed as per the decisions taken in the meeting held at Nagpur.
