SC East Bengal face yet another transfer ban
Xtra Time Web Desk: The ongoing saga between Shree Cement and East Bengal has been a hot topic in the world of Indian football as of late. The club has left the dues and wages of quite a few club players and staff pending. The issue, which was previously under FIFA, has now moved to the Court of Arbitration for Sports.
The matter has gotten into an extremely complicated stage, with the club unable to handle the burden, and Shree Cement washing their hands off the matter. An important point to note here is that the responsibility for the issue goes to past investors Quess. Owing to this issue, East Bengal are facing strict repercussions, including a fine of Rupees 4 to 5 crore, failing which the club may face a transfer ban. The club may thus fall into a dilemma where they are unable to sign foreign players, a situation they definitely do not want to find themselves in.
