East Bengal plays every tournament to become the Champions: Ranjan Chowdhury

Kolkata: After winning against Minerva Punjab last Sunday, the East Bengal teams practice resumed today at full might at the East Bengal ground. All the players resumed practice apart from Ivan Bukenya who is suffering from stomach illness.

East Bengal will end their Hero I-League campaign that is scheduled to take place on the 29th of this month, as the Kolkata giant travel to play against Mumbai FC.

East Bengal Asst. Coach Ranjan Chowdhury spoke to the press after the practice and revealed that his team is back in shape and is confident to win the next match. He revealed that the win against Punjab after a series of losses has brought back the confidence among his players. The time for the Federation Cup is small so practice for the last match of the league and also for the cup has already started for the Red-Yellow brigade. “The full planning for Fed Cup will begin after the last match is played” said Chowdhury.

“East Bengal club never plays for a draw or a loss; they play for being the Champions. At the present condition we are in the 3rd place, but for us 3rd position or 5th position are the same. We play for achieving the top spot” said the Asst. coach.

“The players of our team have tremendous quality but they were less motivated and we are trying to improve that, since proper mentality is very vital for the team as the Fed Cup is a knockout tournament” said Chowdhury.

On being asked about certain players who have received very less playing time he replied “ The players who receive less playing time automatically develops a hunger to do more, they try to push their limit to the maximum to and we will back them to the fullest”.
