East Bengal & Mohun Bagan in ‘Tug of War’ to sign top Indian winger

Indian Transfer
Kolkata:
The Indian football transfer market is getting intense as the Kolkata Giants East Begal and Mohun Bagan are desperate to sign as many quality players as possible before the ISL players draft this month. The two big clubs have already signed quite a few fine Indian and foreign players to strengthen their squad. But they are in the hunt to sign as many quality Indian players as possible.

Brendon Fernandez was recruited by Mohun Bagan a season back but he hardly got any opportunity to showcase his talent because of his injuries. But the versatile attacker, who can play in various roles on the upfront, such as left wing, right wing and central attacking midfielder, has been in regular negotiations with Mohun Bagan, as the Mariners are desperate to sign him. East Bengal too, have called him today to solve their issues on the upfront. They too have shown a lot of interest to snatch him from the target of their arch rivals. Though Brendon wants to wait a few more days before coming to a final decision.

Brendon is going to Europe to have three months of training in Lithuania to get fitter and more polished before the season begins. Brendon will be returning to India on 2nd October but if things go according to the plan, he will decide his next destination during his stay in Europe only.

Ace forward Victorino Fernandez too is in the radar of the two Kolkata heavyweights.
