Kolkata: Forgetting the rivalry of the field, East Bengal and Mohun Bagan supporters were seen joined together at the statue of Goshta Pal in Dharmatalla. A crowd of 100-150 members turned up in today’s meeting. Each of the protesters had white banners which contained many slogans as a mark of protest.  The supporters of both the clubs jointly formed a forum named “Bengal Football Lover’s Forum (BFLF)”.

These fans had only one slogan ‘One Country One League’ and also cited that they will not allow any team to play a tournament in Kolkata where both the city giants won’t take part.

The fans of the two respective clubs also held a silent rally in Dharmatalla where the fans were seen wearing black masks tied round their mouths as a mark of protest.

The fans have decided to call for a much larger rally on July 8 to protest for both the clubs. The rally will be held from Subodh Mallick Square to Rani Rashmoni Road. The protesters have decided to inform the Kolkata Police regarding their decision to hold a rally.

This however was the first meeting which the forum conducted and they are firmly determined to hold more such protests until and unless their demands are met. The fans also decided that they would be boycotting this year’s ISL completely by not turning up in the stadium like they did in previous years.

On the other hand Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan have started primary talks with Liberian midfielder Ansumana Kromah for the coming season. Kormah played for Churchill Brothers in the last I-League season.
