Kolkata: City giant East Bengal is set to give release order to its Trinidad and Tobago striker Willis Plaza after his poor show in the Kolkata derby today where East Bengal lost to their arch-rivals Mohun Bagan.

After the loss the club officials met with the footballers and coach at the Salt lake Stadium. Spending more than four hours in the meeting, the Red & Gold official Debabrata Sarker told the media that,” We will start the release procedure of Plaza very soon.”

The Red & Gold Brigade will play their next game against league leaders Minerva Punjab FC and the team management will give a release order to Plaza before that. Ahead of the crucial Kolkata derby encounter the officials had already told Plaza that they won’t keep him in the squad if he fails to score in derby after seeing is poor show again the officials took their final decisions in the meeting.
