Do you know why Indian women’s team coach Tushar Arothe steps down?

XtraTime Web Desk: India’s women cricket team coach Tushar Arothe stepped down ahead of Women’s World T20. Arothe sent his resignation to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

For the last few weeks, there were reports of discord between Arothe and some of India’s key players. The matter, it was learnt, had gone off hands and India’s T20 captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, recently met the BCCI and CoA top brass to discuss about the issues the players had with the coach.

Highly-placed sources in the BCCI have confirmed that the Board has received Arothe’s resignation.

However, in his resignation letter, Arothe has cited ‘personal reasons’ behind his decision to step down.

A former Baroda cricketer, Arothe took charge of the team last year and guided the women’s team to the World Cup final, where it went down to England. But reports of trouble emerged after India’s final loss at the Asia Cup.
