Kolkata: Talented middle order batsman Debabrata Das continued his good run with the bat in CAB first division league. The Mohun Bagan batsman on Friday scored a hat-trick of double centuries against Kumartuli at Bhawanipore Club.  Debabrata scored 224 runs in just 174 balls. His knock included 13 fours and 13 sixes.

The attacking batsman had earlier scored 315 runs against Bhukailash at Bata Ground and followed it up with 237 runs against Netaji Subhash Institute at High Court ground.

Debabrata, who is in the Bengal probables for Syed Mustaq Ali Trophy is happy with his knock today. He said, “I am feeling a lot more positive with my batting now. I am a more confident batsman now and have the self confidence to bat in any situation.”

The Mohun Bagan batsman was dropped from the Bengal team last season owing to a string of dismal performances with the bat. According to Debabrata, “Last year my performance was not great at all. That was the reason I was dropped from the squad last season. But since then I have worked on my batting. I went to Abhimanyu Cricket Academy and stayed there for 24 days. I went there on my own expense and worked on my fitness and technique. I am happy that my hard work is reaping dividends now.”

Debabrata is regarded as one of the most talented batsman in Bengal. He admits that he has not done justice to his talent. “I started off well in the junior level, getting a chance in the India U’19 squad along with Ravindra Jadeja, Cheteswar Pujara and Rohit Sharma. But since then I have not done justice to my talent,” feel Debabrata.
