Kolkata: The CAB working committee meeting pertaining to implementation of the Lodha recommendation reforms still remained inconclusive today at the Eden Gardens. The main agenda of the meeting was to intimate all the office bearers to vacate all posts as mentioned in the Lodha Committee recommendations after the Supreme court verdict of 2nd January.

All working committee members agreed to the fact that the recommendations needs to be implemented at once except the present treasurer Biswaroop Dey. He claimed to have been assistant secretary of CAB for two years and the post of assistant secretary cannot be considered as a post of an office bearer. Hence, he still has two more years in office left to serve CAB.

Ex-BCCI and presently CAB legal adviser Ushanath Banerjee categorically protested along with other members that the post of Assistant secretary is indeed a post of an office bearer and subject to immediate resignation of Biswaroop. After much hue and cry it was decided that a suggestion will be called for from the Lodha Committee on this issue. It has also been clearly stated to protesting Biswaroop that if the Lodha committee reply comes against him then he will have to resign immediately and till the clarification comes he will not be allowed to conduct any official work for CAB.

After the meeting ended Ushanath Banerjee the CAB appointed lawyer said,”The first agenda of the meeting was to intimate the disqualification of the members who has been automatically disqualified by the Supreme court order released on 2nd January. All the members acknowledged the verdict except treasurer Biswaroop Dey, who claimed that he still has two years left in office as he has served as assistant secretary for two years. According to him the post of assistant secretary cannot be considered as an office bearer. So it has been decided to seek a clarification from the Lodha Committee and we are writing to them, immediate steps will be taken if the clarification comes against him.”

CAB President Sourav Ganguly said,”We have asked for clarification from the Lodha Committee on one issue and after it is cleared we will decide on the date of SGM to make the necessary changes required in the committee following the Lodha recommendations.”

It was also alleged that Biswaroop Dey who attended the unofficial meeting convened by the ousted members of BCCI in Bangalore on Sundaythat he has defamed CAB President Sourav Ganguly. Biswaroop was chased by Sourav himself in the meeting asking whether he has said that constant contact with Lodha Committee has been kept by him to oust Biswaroop from his post. The allegation was refused by Biswaroop stating he has not done or said anything against the President or CAB in the unofficial meeting.

The last agenda of the meeting was the pricing for the ticket sales for the England Vs India match at the Eden Gardens on 22nd January. The prices of the tickets has been fixed as Rs 500, Rs 1000, and Rs 1500. The tickets distribution for CAB  affiliated clubs will be held on 13th January and for members it will be on 17th and 18th January.
