Kolkata: The Cricket Association of Bengal(CAB) is going through a lot of drama in the past few days due to the revolutionary decisions made by the RM Lodha committee that has changed the landscape of Indian cricket politics forever. According to the new rules, no one can hold office in any cricket Association of India after completion of nine years in cricket politics. Also, the candidate needs to go through a 3 year cooling off period before becoming eligible again for contesting in the elections regarding cricket Association posts.

CAB, fueled by the directions has taken needful steps as already the Treasurer Biswarup Dey, Assistant Secretary Biswanath Samanta and Amio Auddy the Vice-President have resigned from there post and their nameplates have also been removed in the past few days.

The drama started today when Mr.Biswarup Dey came to the CAB today and went to his old room where he used to seat. When he was asked about the removal of his nameplate, he sarcastically said,” Everyone is busy for the upcoming 3rd ODI between India and England which is set to be contested at Eden Gardens, probably some thief entered the CAB and stolen my name-plate.” He also met with CAB President Sourav Ganguly and shook hands as a sense of gratitude. Ganguly was asked to share his feelings on the comments made by Dey, but he urged the media not to drag him in such matters.

Another issue is fueling the feud in CAB that why is Mr.Anu Dutta, the Assistant Secretary of CAB is getting retained, even after completing the above mentioned term.

Biswarup also complained about the negligence of CAB in filing the request of receiving organizing rights of the upcoming India-Bangladesh one off test match, as the original organizers Hyderabad were at first reluctant to host the game. Although the request was filed, it never had the signature of either the President or the joint Secretary, which is mandatory. Instead, it had the signature of the assistant Secretary, who gave the reason that both President and joint Secretary were out of station.
