Contract Controversy: Another Kolkata giant in trouble with their two star footballers

contract

Kolkata: The ongoing controversy regarding the Indian footballers continues, as another couple of star Indian footballers are now in front some serious trouble. Previously, it was East Bengal and their two footballers Abinas Ruidas and Dibyendu Sarkar who found themselves in a spot of bother. But the new issue regarding Mohammedan Sporting’s two stars Manbir Singh and Rana Gharami is much different though compare to the issues of Abinas and Dibyendu.

Manbir Singh, who is now with the India U23 National Team in Goa, became a hero as he scored the priceless goal in the Santosh Trophy final in the 118th minute, which helped Bengal to win the title after six long years. Rana Gharami too became a super hero as he was the captain of the Santosh Trophy and led the side by an example. He also played an inspiring role for Mohammedan Sporting in the last couple of seasons for Mohammedan Sporting.

The situation is now critical for Mohammedan Sporting as both the players are now desperate to play the Indian Super League despite signing for Mohammedan Sporting this season. Sources revealed www.xtratime.in that both the players have almost made up their mind for going into the draft to play the ISL 2017.

Though Mohammedan Sporting official Belal Khan told www.xtratime.in, “Yes both the players have applied to get their NOC from us. But Manbir’s case is a bit different from Rana. Manbir wants to join the FC Goa Academy and to come from there on loan to Mohammedan to play the CFL. We have also decided to give the NOC to him.” But he added, “Rana wants to play in the ISL. We have also told him to play there if wants. But we have also gave him a condition. If he goes to the draft, his new team should allow him to play for us in the CFL. Otherwise, we have to think differently.”

It will no doubt be very difficult for a player to join another club on loan after being recruited by an ISL franchise. Hence, the future of this two players too in doubts now. XtraTime also tried to get the view of IMG-R to know the future of the two players. Though, they denied to make any official comment, knowing the seriousness of the issue.

Now it is to see, how this issue gets the required solution. Manbir and Rana both are instrumental parts  of Mohammedan’s plans for the new season and their absence could turn out to be a huge blow for them if they cannot play in the CFL.
