Commonwealth Games 2018: India thump Singapore in women’s TT to clinch gold

XtraTime Web Desk: Indian women’s Table Tennis team displayed a magnificent team effort today as they thumped strong Singapore side 3-1 to seal the nation’s seventh gold medal in the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast.

Manika Batra continued her brilliant form as she beat Tianwei Feng 3-2 to give her team a 1-0 lead in the final. Though, Singapore came back strongly in the game after Yu Wengyu thumped Madhurika Patkar 3-0.

In the third game it was a doubles match where veteran Mouma Das teamed up with Patkar. They beat the duo of Zhou Yihan and Mengyu Yu 3-1 to make the tie 2-1. After that Batra did no wrong as she beat Zhou Yihan 3-0 and hands the nation its seventh gold medal of the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
