Xtra Time Web Desk: Spanish giants Real Madrid suffered a shock 2-3 defeat against Shakhtar Donetsk in their Champions League opener at Alfredo di Stefano on Wednesday night. It is now the second consecutive defeat for the reigning La Liga champions after their embarrassing loss against Cadiz during the weekend.

The Ukranian side took a surprising 3-0 lead despite missing a string of players due to coronavirus. Mateus Tete gave his team the lead in the 29th minute. Tagliafico stumbled onto Sadio Mane's mis-hit shot to divert it beyond Andre Onana 10 minutes before half-time in what would prove the only goal of the game in an open match at the Johann Cruyff Arena.
