CFL 2018: Unstoppable East Bengal seals a thumping victory over Tollygunge Agragami

Kolkata: Quess East Bengal FC continues to maintain their terrific form in the Calcutta Football League, as the Red and Gold brigade thrash Manoranjan Bhattacharya’s Tollygunge Agragami by 3-0. Brendon, Jobby Justin and Samad Alli Mullick all found the back of the net for Subhash Bhowmick’s team.




East Bengal have easily played their best match so far in the league as the result could have been even worse for Manoranjan Bhattacharya’s Tollygunge Agragami.

Previously, this game was abandoned due to heavy rain and thus the replay was scheduled today. East Bengal started off the game in an emphatic fashion as they started using both the flanks with some unbelievable pace of Samad and Brendon.




East Bengal scored the opening goal in the 14th minute when Mehtab Singh delivered an immaculate long ball from halfway line, and Brendon finished it with an eye-catching volley on the running ball.

The second goal was even better in the 21st minute when Danmawia brought in a perfect cross from the right and Jobby Justin finished it with a sensational acrobatic volley to make it 2-0.




East Bengal scored their third goal in the 41st minute when Samad drilled in a superb cross from the right flank and goalkeeper Subham Roy got foxed by the pressure from Jobby and ended up conceding the third goal.

East Bengal’s win replaces Mohun Bagan from the top and they now sitting pretty on the summit of the league table with an ominous message for the other teams.
