Kolkata:
All eyes will be on Bayi Kamo and Ansumana Kromah, as Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan will be beginning their Calcutta Football League (CFL) campaign on Monday when they will take on Southern Samity at their own club ground. Facing the Green and Maroon brigade will be the Southern Samity who was struggling to build the team a few weeks back.

Bagan would be hugely dependent on Kromah who scored a lot of goals for his side in the pre-season friendlies.

Kromah spoke to the media by saying, “I’m combining well with Kamo. Yes we are foreigners and fans would rely on us to a large extent. But it’s a team game and it should collectively try to help out team winning games.”

On the flip side, Kamo said, “We want to create history. The team has not this title in the last seven years and our intention will be to win it this time at any cost.”

Bagan Coach Shankarlal Chakraborty too is focused ahead of his job. He said, “We are not bothered what East Bengal and Mohammedan doing. We would try to win all the games but one at a time. The number of goals doesn’t matter, but the 3 points do.”

Mohun Bagan had their last two training sessions under floodlight as the club would be playing all their matches in the evening. Veteran goalie Shilton Paul has resumed practice after recovering from his injury while defender Abhishek Das is doubtful with an injury.
