Gopal Roy, Kalyani: The man of the moment for the Black Panthers was Dipanda Dicka. The Cameroon footballer has now scored 11 goals in the Calcutta League. It was his goal that gave his side the lead in the second half. He faced a lot of criticism for not playing well against Mohun Bagan but today he answered all his critics. He was seen running towards the fence where the Black and White supporters were cheering after scoring the first goal for his side. He received a lot of criticism following his lackadaisical performance against Mohun Bagan but his performance today will silence his detractors.

Talking exclusively to xtratime.in at the sidelines of the Kalyani stadium, Dicka said, “I was disappointed with myself after my performance against Mohun Bagan. I am very happy to score the goal today against East Bengal. I dedicate my goal to the Mohammedan supporters. I really wanted to win this match for them but this is football.”

Dicka will be donning the Green and Maroon jersey in the I League. The top scorer of the I League last season was asked to compare both the Kolkata giants, having played against them.

“Both teams are good but Mohun Bagan looked a lot more balanced,” grins Dicka.

Commenting on which team he would want to see win the derby coming up on September 24, he promptly replied, “I would love to see Mohun Bagan win the derby as I will be playing for them in I League.

Asked to comment about the best goal he scored in the CFL, Dicka rated the goal against Railway FC as his best.

“The goal I scored against Railway FC from a free-kick is the best so far,” signed off a happy Dipanda Dicka accompanied by his French girlfriend Georjette.
