CFL 2017: East Bengal thrashes foreigner less Railways FC 3-0

Kolkata: East Bengal made yet again a perfect start when they scored in the opening minutes of the game against Railways and thereby winning the game by 3-0 against a foreigner less Railways FC in their home ground. Debutant Jobby Justin scored in the 3rd minute of the game to give the Red and Gold brigade an early lead. Justin came dashing in from the right side and opponent goalie Sudipto Banerjee who fumbled and gave the Kolkata giant an early lead.

Railways FC got a chance in the 7th when Mithun Saha failed to score in an open net when defenders Gurwinder and Mehtab when they were left standing in one line. Apart from failed chances from both sides, there were also a couple of goal line saves.

In the 36th minute there was a goal line save of Amna’s shot and then in the 42nd minute there was yet another goal line save of Justin’s shot. The score remained 1-0 at Half time.

The second goal came in the 68th minute when a cross of Subrabuddin was received by Jobby Justin, whose back heel hit the post and the rebound was calmly finished by VP Suhair.

83rd minute saw Suhair scoring the brace and thereby taking his goal tally to 5 goals after he finished it for his side from a Dhanmaiya’s cross.

The victory takes East Bengal at the top of the league with 5 wins out of 5 games. Had thereby less wasted chances and goal line saves East Bengal would have scored many more goals.

A minute’s silence was observed before the start of the match on the occasion of demise of Ahmed Khan. After end of play, footballers put up garlands on the picture of the passed away great.
