Kolkata: East Bengal fans will be delighted upon knowing that four of their Indian team players, Arnab Mondal, Salam Ranjan Singh, Nikhil Poojari and Md. Rafique would be joining the Red and Gold Brigade after returning from the Indian camp. Whether Coach Khalid Jamil opts to field them against Pathachakra on September 7 will be an interesting decision. Three Manipuri players are on trial for the club, if they win the favour of the coach then they will get featured on the ongoing Calcutta Football League (CFL).

The Kolkata giants are currently on the top of the CFL table with 5 wins. Arch-rivals Mohun Bagan has also won 5 games but owing to a better goal difference East Bengal is clinging to the top spot.

After a practice session today at the club ground, East Bengal Coach Khalid Jamil said, “Our opposition is a good team so we will not take them lightly.”

Mohun Bagan and East Bengal are ongoing a neck to neck fight in the CFL, to which Khaild claimed, “Yes there is pressure before the game. But the main focus lies on the game. Our aim is to win the game and get points in our bag.”

“As of now I am thinking about winning the League, I am concentration on one game at a time. All the teams are good and hence there is a bigger competition” said Khalid.

“All the players are important for the team as they are vital assets of the team” concluded the East Bengal coach.
