Kolkata: The 87th minute controversial penalty which gave East Bengal yet another crucial win to go on top of the points table, has created new buzz at the Kolkata Maidan. Mohun Bagan dropped two vital points against NBP Rainbow the other day and the Mariners claimed that they were ‘denied’ by a penalty in the game.
The grief got stronger when East Bengal was rewarded a penalty today later in the game which helped them to win the all important tie against Patha Chakra to go on top of the points table. Just after the match got finished, Mohun Bagan Assistant Secretary Srinjoy Bose posted the underneath photo on Facebook and said:
Talking to www.xtratime.in , Srinjoy Bose said, “I posted my opinion on Facebook and the reaction from the fans are enough to prove that I was not wrong in posting that.”
Though East Bengal official Debabrata Sarkar ironically replied, “Perhaps Srinjoy knows the game better than others.”
IFA Secretary Utpal Ganguly said,”I have received some screen-shots of Srinjoy’s facebook post. Let me check those screen-shots first before giving any official comments.”
