Internet Desk: Moments after Bengaluru FC scripted history for Indian Football by becoming the first-ever Indian Club to reach an AFC Cup Final, Skipper Sunil Chhetri lauded the ‘Team Game’ at the post-match press conference.

“The best part of the Club is whoever is associated with Bengaluru FC, right from Mr. Sajjan Jindal, our coach, our ball boy everyone puts in so much effort to achieve the result. It’s a closely knit family,” he said at the post-match Press Conference.

BFC made a statement defeating defending champions Johor Darul Ta’zim 3-1 tonight and 4-2 on aggregate to book a clash with Air Force Club Iraq on November 5.

“You don’t believe how much happy I’m now. In fact, I’m at loss of words expressing it. This result is not just an achievement of the eleven Players. Rather this has been was possible because of the entire Bengaluru FC family,” he opined.

He added,”We don’t know what we’re going to achieve next but one thing is for sure that we’ll keep on pushing hard and we’ll stay together whatever happens.”

Meanwhile, the gaffer didn’t mince his words praising the skipper as the architect of today’s win.

“He’s (Sunil is) the right Captain. He’s an example to all of us present here. Bengaluru FC can’t have any better Captain than him. He doesn’t only work on his game but helps other Players a lot. Undoubtedly, he’s a big part of the success which we achieved tonight,” Coach Albert Roca said.

“We all might have different mindsets, but on the pitch, we all are as good as he thinks. Definitely, he brought in a different style of play which we were adopted with. But he always told us to believe in ourselves and go on the pitch with an open mind,” Chhetri complemented the Coach back.

“Our Team can only be a success if the Team and Coach are in proper synchronisation. It was actually the success mantra before and it’s same now. Whatever he thinks right, we just try to execute that on the pitch.”

Roca also had a word of praise for the electrifying atmosphere created by the Bengaluru FC fans.

“It was terrific. Really I mean it. The constant cheer from the first minute made our oppositions’ life uneasy and it paved us the way to winning the match eventually.”

Sunil chipped in and quipped, “Sir has come from Barcelona and he has worked with Galatasaray FC. So if he is saying the crowd is good, trust me, they are really great.”
