Xtra Time Web Desk: BCCI President Sourav Ganguly on Thursday said the board will take appropriate action against Indian test captain Virat Kohli’s recent remarks. Kohli in his press conference on Wednesday ahead of the team’s departure to South Africa has stated that he received no communication from BCCI President Sourav Ganguly requesting him to relinquish ODI captaincy.

The comment from Kohli has created quite a stir in BCCI mandarins. Sourav has refused to make any statements over the sensitive issue and has left it to the BCCI to take necessary actions.

"No Comments. BCCI will take appropriate action," said Ganguly to the media when asked about the white ball Captaincy controversy.
Ganguly had earlier stated that he requested Virat personally not to step down from T20 captaincy on December 9. But Kohli during his press conference said he had received no such requests from anyone in BCCI, indirectly pointing his finger at Sourav.

There were speculations that the Indian cricket board might come up with a statement but that did not happen. There were also talks about the selection committee chairman Chetan Sharma briefing the media which did not take place either.

It goes to be seen what actions will be taken against Virat Kohli by the BCCI. Kohli right now is in South Africa with the Indian team.
