Kolkata: Atletico de Kolkata coach Jose Molina was suspended for a match in the ensuing Hero Indian Super League. The Hero Indian Super League (ISL) disciplinary committee on Wednesday imposed the sanctions on the Atletico coach for his on field misbehavior with the match officials. Molina will not be allowed to sit at the reserve bench in the team’s next match against North East United on October 28 in Guwahati.

The Atletico head coach was given marching orders in the dying minutes of second half for repeatedly protesting against referee’s decision. Additionally, AIFF Disciplinary Code (Article 19) states that an expulsion automatically incurs suspension from the team’s subsequent match.

The home side suffered a 0-1 defeat to Mumbai City FC in an Indian Super League (ISL) game on Tuesday. Diego Forlan scored the winner for Mumbai City FC in the 79th minute. Frustrated with the team’s loss, Molina did not turn up for the post match press conference as well.

"We don't know the reason. Only the referee and God know why he was sent off," assistant coach Bastab Roy told reporters at the post match press conference.

Molina was asked to leave the field of play by referee Sandro Meira Ricci. He was seen standing at the dugout in spite of the marching orders.

Molina was earlier dragged into controversy for turning late for the pre match press conference in Kerala ahead of the team’s match against Kerala Blasters.
