AFC Cup: Mohun Bagan on their way to Maldives to face Maziya S&RC

Kolkata: Mohun Bagan left for Maldives on Sunday night to play their AFC Cup group league match against Maziya Sports & Recreation, Maldives to be played on Wednesday.

Mohun Bagan defeated Maziya S&R 5-2 in the home match played at Guwahati. Currently, Mohun Bagan is leading the table with 10 points from 4 games, followed by Yangon United, Myanmar (5 points from 4 games), Maziya Sports & Recreation, Maldives (4 points from 4 games) and South China, Hong Kong (3 points from 4 games). Mohun Bagan who have already qualified for the Round of 16, needs a point to become the Group Champion.

If Mohun Bagan becomes the Group Champion, they will be hosting the single leg pre-quarter final match of the AFC Cup which will be played on May 24, 2016 against the Runners of Group E. The quarter-final and semi-final of the AFC Cup will be a double-leg affair. Mohun Bagan will miss the services Luciano Sabrosa in this match due to card issues.
