51 centuries in Tests  This is an incredible record held by the master blaster. Even with the amount of test matches being played these days, it looks difficult for any batsman to achieve the feat. Tendulkar has achieved the feat in a career spanning for two decades which in itself is a testimony to his dedication and determination. The batsman closest to his record is South African Jaques Kallis who has scored 45 hundreds. Younis Khan, who recently completed 10,000 runs in test cricket, has 34 hundreds to his belt.

200 Tests  This is another record that will be extremely difficult to break. To have sustained so long amidst the rigours of test cricket, speaks volumes of Tendulkar’s fitness and skill. The master blaster achieved the feat against West Indies. Australians Ricky Ponting and Steve Waugh have played the most number of Tests –168 each. Among the contemporary cricketers former England captain Alastair Cook has played the most number of test matches, i.e., 140 tests.

15921 runs in Tests  This is another monumental effort from Tendulkar, having scored close to sixteen thousand runs in tests. Forget about scoring the runs that the master blaster scored, no other batsman has scored even 13,500 runs in Tests. Forner Australian captain Ricky Ponting is second in the list, having scored 13, 378 runs. Among the current players only Younis Khan has scored above 10,000 runs.
