Xtra Time Web Desk: A disciplined bowling effort from the bowlers saw India level the three match T20I series against New Zealand at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday. Chasing 100 runs to win, the hosts too struggled against the Kiwi slow bowlers before Suryakumar Yadav (26 off 31) and Hardik Pandya (15 off 20) took the team home with 6 wickets in hand. The series is now level at 1-1 with the decider on Thursday in Ahmedabad

India got off to a bad start as they lost opener Shubman Gill for 11 runs. Ishan Kishan and Rahul Tripathi stitched a small partnership before the left hander got out due to a terrible mix-up in the middle. Ishan scored 19 off 32 balls.

Rahul Tripathi (13 off 18) also did not last long as he was caught by Glenn Philips off the bowling of Ish Sodhi. To make matters worse Washington Sundar (10 off 9) was run out by Blair Tickner, with the scoreboard reading 70/4 in 14.3 overs.

Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav ensured there is no further hiccups as they guided the team home in the final over. Sky smashed a boundary off the fifth ball from Tickner to give the home team a nervy 6 wickets win.

Earlier, the BlackCaps batting first did not got going as they lost wickets at regular intervals. Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Deep Hooda, and Washington Sundar all claimed one wicket each. Arshdeep Singh bagged two wickets. Mitchell Santner was the highest scorer for the visitors with 19* off 23 balls.
