2018 FIFA WC: Possibility of a bank holiday in England, if they win the World Cup

XtraTime Web Desk: Even the English people most indifferent to football will be throwing their support behind the national team in Wednesday night’s semi-final against Croatia and, should they get to the final, a petition has started for a Bank Holiday to be declared for Monday if the Three Lions win the World Cup.

Parliament is now obliged to discuss the petition, with it having surpassed 100,000 signatures, but first Gareth Southgate’s men must make it to the final by winning on Wednesday.

England have not won a World Cup since their only triumph on home soil in 1966.
