1st ODI: Suresh Raina ruled out due to viral fever against New Zealand

Suresh Raina has been ruled out of 1st ODI against New Zealand.

Internet Desk: India’s middle order batsman Suresh Raina  has been ruled out of the first One  Day International against New Zealand due to viral fever, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Thursday.

The left hander had to miss the Ranji Trophy tie against Madhya Pradesh as he felt temperatures soaring high on the second day of the match. There will be no replacement for Raina for the first ODI.

India completed a 3-0 whitewash in the Test series over New Zealand in Indore recently. India will host the Kiwis in a five-match ODI rubber starting in Dharamsala on October 16 .

“The BCCI Medical team has confirmed that Suresh Raina, who is recovering from a bout of viral fever, is ruled out of the first ODI of the Paytm ODI Trophy against New Zealand. There will be no replacement in the team,” BCCI secretary Ajay Shirke said in a media advisory.
